Kunle Omilani Non-Executive Director BSc (Econs), MSc
Kunle Omilani holds a BSc in Economics from the University of Wales, Cardiff and an MSc in Shipping, Trade & Finance from City University, London.
He began his professional career in 1995 with Apollo Derivatives on the Bund futures trading desk. In 1997, Kunle joined Jardine Insurance Brokers where he worked in the energy and marine division.
Kunle returned to Nigeria in 1998 to join Internautical Limited, a marine transportation services provider. He led the acquisition of the company’s first vessel, which was used to deliver marine fuels to the exploration and production facilities of companies such as Shell, ExxonMobil, and Chevron.
Kunle returned to energy insurance broking in 2004 when he co-founded YOA Insurance Brokers. In his capacity as Managing Director, he successfully steered the company to become one of the top 10 brokers in Nigeria in less than a decade. Until his departure in 2015, Kunle worked on the placement of both insurance and reinsurance policies for major and independent field operators as well as oil service contractors on numerous onshore and offshore energy projects in Nigeria.
He currently serves on the boards of Internautical, Alva Energy and Crusader Sterling Pensions. He has attended several executive management training programs at Harvard Business School and Wharton School.
Abayomi Sunday is a graduate of Agricultural Economics & Extension from Federal University of Technology, Akure and trainee of Occupational Health and Safety (NEBOSH IGC).With more than 6 years’ experience in Marine Cargo Superintending and Survey, he has worked with Pyramid Transglobal Maritime Solution Limited and presently with Yinka Omilani & Associates Loss Adjusters.
Olayinka Omilani Founder ACII, CIA, FILAN
Senator Olayinka Omilani has over 45years experience in the insurance industry. He began his career after his qualifications from a London university with Wills Faber and Dumas Insurance Brokers in 1967 after which he joined J.H. Minet Lloyds Brokers. Following this, he was employed in the agency department of the corporation of Lloyds.
In 1969, He returned to Nigeria as the Lloyds of London representative. He went ahead to start the first loss adjusting firm in Nigeria, Yinka Omilani & Associates, in 1978 which he headed until 1995.
In 1980, together with two other persons namely Late Chief S.N. Onwuaso and Chief P. O. Egbuniwe, he spearheaded the founding of the Nigerian Institute of loss Adjusters (ILAN). The Institute has since then grown significantly and now has thousands as members. He became Chairman, Board of trustees of ILAN in 2012. In 1996, he established New Line Insurance and was the Chairman/ Chief Executive until 2004 when YOA Insurance Brokers was formed. He assumed the position of Chairman of YOA Insurance Brokers which he is till date.
He is an underwriting member of Lloyds of London ad an associate member of Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, London, British Institute of Export, UK institute of Shipping and forwarding, UK and a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Insurance Nigeria.
He is a member of various Boards of Directors including Healthcare International where he is the Chairman; and NLPC Pension Fund Administrators where he is a director. He has also been actively involved in Nigerian politics; he became a Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in 1991 and served as the Vice-Chairman [South-West] for People’s Democratic Party between 2003 to 2007.
He is married with children and grand-children.
Elizabeth Anike Omilani Non-Executive Director
Elizabeth Anike Omilani is a 1963 graduate of the United Missionary College, Ibadan (popularly called UMC). She developed the desire to teach in 1960 at the Methodist Primary School Epe where she assisted for a year. In 1964, she had her first employment as a trained teacher at Sagamu Methodist Girls School, Ogun State. She has served in several other notable schools acquiring over 23 years of teaching experience.
Oladimeji Kareem holds a Higher national diploma (HND) in Mechanical Engineering (1987) from Yaba College of Technology, Lagos. He is also an Associate member of the Certified Institute of Shipping (ACIS) 2011 and CIIN Certificate in Insurance (2017).He has worked with SCOA Motors as Workshop Manager between 1988 and 1995. He moved to the Claims Department of UNIC Insurance, Northern Regional Office, Kano from year 1995 – 2000.He joined Yinka Omilani & Associates in 2006 as Manager, Kano branch and is presently Controller of Operations with over 12 years’ experience in Marine Cargo Superintending, Pre-Loss Surveying of Properties and Insurance Loss Adjusting.
Barry Prottey Senior Consultant FILAN, FRISAN, AIPLA
Barry B. Prottey has over 50 years of Insurance Claims, Risk Survey, Risk & Claims Management and Loss Adjusting experience. He has spent 40 of those years in West Africa, 1 year in Jamaica and 10 years in the UK. Barry is a fellow of the Institute of Loss Adjusters of Nigeria, a Fellow of the Risk Surveyors Association of Nigeria, and a Member of the Institute of Public Loss Assessors(London). he is currently the Managing Director of Claims Consult Limited.
Amore James Olutayo General Manager HND Insurance , Master Managerial Psychology, ACIIN
Amore Olutayo is an Associate of Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria and a Master degree holder in Managerial Psychology from University of Ibadan. An insurance practitioner with over 18 years’ experience. Olutayo has served in various capacities at managerial level in various organisations such as Equity Assurance Plc, Standard Alliance Insurance Plc and Leadway Assurance Limited in Claims Department, Property Engineering Department, Marine and General Accident. He has attended many courses in Claim and Underwriting both locally and abroad. He joined Yinka Omilani & Associates in 2017 as General Manager.
